Dear Michael Wallace Families,
Welcome to a new school year at Michael Wallace Elementary! We hope you have had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to another year of learning, growing, and building our school community together.
We are excited to welcome our students back and wanted to share a few important dates and reminders as we get ready for the first day.
First Day of School – Thursday, September 3
The first day of school for students is Thursday, September 3rd.
You will receive a communication from your child’s teacher welcoming them to their class and providing more specific information about morning drop-off procedures for the first day.
Our regular school day runs from 9:00 a.m. – 3:10 p.m. School supervision begins at 8:40 a.m. Please do not send students to school prior to 8:40 a.m., as there is no supervision available before this time.
Curriculum Night – Tuesday, September 1 6:00–7:30 p.m.
We invite families to join us for Curriculum Night on Tuesday, September 1st from 6:00–7:30 p.m.
This will be an opportunity for parents and caregivers to:
- Drop off school supplies
- Visit your child’s classroom
- Meet your child’s teacher
- Learn about classroom routines and expectations
- Learn about some of the curriculum and learning experiences planned for the school year
Curriculum Night is intended primarily for parents and caregivers rather than students. The exception is our Pre-Primary program, which will be hosting an Open House for Pre-Primary families during this time.
New to Michael Wallace? School Walk-Through
For students and families who are new to Michael Wallace Elementary, we will be hosting a school walk-through on Tuesday, September 1st at 1:30 p.m.
This will give new students and their families an opportunity to come into the school, see some of the spaces they will be using, and become familiar with the building before the first day of school.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back and beginning another wonderful year together. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to make Michael Wallace a safe, welcoming, and engaging place for every student.
